The New Castle Historical Society operates three historic museums - the c. 1690 Dutch House, the 1738 Amstel House, and the 1892 Old Library Museum. All three are open to the public for tours, programs and exhibitions throughout the year.

Delaware Historical and Cultural Affairs operates the New Castle Court House Museum, in is one of the oldest surviving courthouses in the United States and a registered National Historic Landmark. Tours, exhibits, lectures and events all year round.

A National Historic Landmark owned and operated by the Delaware Historical Society, the George Read II House and Gardens are a monument to grand federal architecture near the turn of the 18th century, built by the son of a signer of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution.
